This is my first attempt at a Zeus Adventure. I have tested it until total exhaustion. You start out with no money, just the shirt on your back. You must slowly build up your city and your esteem with the gods to access the rich resources of the land. There will be one colony to create that will provide you with lots of funds. There is some military, but not very tough. This is mainly just a fun citybuilding adventure, where you can build a grand city. |

I've just played through establishing the colony and had to let you know how much I'm enjoying your adventure! (And I haven't even finished it yet!) It was very devilish of you to have all those wonderful resources out of reach in the first episode! Thank you for taking the time to create Bistonia! |

Just a note for those that have made an early download. A couple of the rival cities had a city strength of 6, so they could not be conquered. This will not prevent completion of the adventure and you should still have plenty of fun anyway. However, they have since been fixed to a city strength of no more than 5.
Also, I reduced some of the city favor rating. If you really want to have a challenge, an easy way is to go into the adventure editor and change the city favor of the trading partners to 40, except maybe Athens and play at Olympian difficulty. This will limit your bail out funds to only one time from Athens until you start sending gifts. This is a real challenge and my first try with this setting caused such a slow start that I had to surrender during the first invasion as I had not set up a palace yet and did not have enough money to bribe them. |

Just completed Bistonia and am developing further in open play episode at finish.
Am not a number cruncher or anything and just develop as I go.
Wanted to remark on how very much I enjoyed this adventure and hope to see more. |

I just completed Bistonia for the second time and have enjoyed it even more. The progression is beautiful and it's no wonder that this adventure has so many downloads. Great fun! |

Okay, I have been playing this scenario, and love it, but I have some problems:
I can't build a tax place, although I think you wanted this.
I can't build bridges to expand my city.
I summoned Hercules and he does not go get the apples! He just walks around my city saying how great it is!
Again, GREAT adventure and if you could answer my questions (whether it be e-mail:Slasher962@aol.com, or a response in this comment part), I would be very grateful. |

Playability: 4
This one earns above-average marks for the 'fun factor' element. I enjoyed the harsh economic challenge of starting out with zero funds and restrictions on structures (no bridges or taxation).
Balance: 4
I almost gave top-marks here because the first couple of episodes are a true test of an advanced player's micromanagement skills in trade and money management. I played at Olympian difficulty level, and this added to the challenge. If a player doesn't use the bail-out loans from their allies wisely, their city is doomed. However, the stress and anxiety soon fades when the colony episode is played, because the silver mints there provide so much income that money is no longer an issue. The rest of the adventure is pretty much smooth sailing, except to crush a couple of relatively small-sized invasions.
Creativity: 3
The initial premise of starting a city with nothing but the shirt on your back and the promise of future access to the resources across the river is good, but that premise alone can't sustain the momentum throughout the whole adventure. Other factors added to the rating, such as a sparse storyline, a rather plain-looking parent-city map, and somewhat lackluster scripting.
Map Design: 3
The two maps get the job done, but are not exceptionally noteworthy. The parent-city map is rather bare looking, with a northern coastline that didn't really serve any purpose. The colony map was more interesting, but was hampered by several tiles that had terrain graphic 'glitches' (e.g. black-spots and garbage graphics). While these graphic glitches did not hinder gameplay on the map, they were eye-sores and detracted from the rating. Too bad they were not detected and corrected during playtesting. The World Map was also a little disappointing, as trade routes over the sea were built as land trade routes to the colony city, and were drawn as simple straight lines.
Story/Instructions: 3
The story was sparse throughout, but it got the job done. A more fleshed-out story would have added to the excitement and feeling of immersion. It might have been clearer in episode 1 if the designer had also stated that taxation was also not allowed.
Additional Comments:
Overall, a solid adventure. For advanced players, I highly recommend the first few episodes at Bistonia. Crank up the difficulty to Olympian and see if you can establish a profitable city. After you accomplish this, you might find the rest of the adventure too easy in comparison.

Playability: 5
Adventure is amazing in my opinion, just finished it. I love the early game struggle and then when i get access to resources it becomes so easy.
Balance: 5
Creativity: 4
Map Design: 5
Map is excellent, loved every detail of it,lots of space, you can build a nice shore with triremes, piers and fishers.
Also very nice amount of fertile lands and resources, maybe you shouldn't have allowed so many resources but all in all it is a great map for players who want to become a real econimic and military powerhouse.(like me)
Story/Instructions: 3
Story was a bit short, not many episodes but its all right.Goals were fairly easy.
Additional Comments:
All in all i loved it and spent few hours building a city of my dream. If you are still playing this game,I reccomend you to play this one if you like to make big cities and have a huge enocomic and military power, also fighting other cities on map was good and requires a bit of a larger army since they have a lot of shields.
Wish you all the best! :)
