Megalomania (updated: 5/16/01)

Author File Description

Notes on "Megalomania", an Adventure for Zeus:

"Inspired by great cities of the past, you want to build the
greatest city ever. Unfortunately, the big, fertile sites
have been taken, so you have settled for just big. However,
you do have some gods on your side who can help, if you know
who, how, when and where to build and pray."

1) I zipped the whole folder, so it should be moved into
your Zeus "Adventures" folder and you're ready to play.

2) I am working on sound files. If I am successful,
a much larger version of "Megalomania" will be available soon.

3) "Megalomania" was designed to be played at Olympian
difficulty by top notch players looking for twists and
challenges requiring "out of the box" thinking.
It has only been tested at the Olympian setting.

4) I developed the concept for "Megalomania" after reviewing
some long online discussions of players' opinons of the gods in Zeus.
I was especially influenced by player opinions of "best" and "worthless" gods,
including some of each in this adventure for players to choose between.
If you comment on the forum, please tell which sanctuaries you chose to build.

quakeii This grand adventure is way beyond my meager skills and time (a final population of 25,000 for starters)! Seriously, I request a walk-thru and some save-games from anyone who finishes this. My, my!
JRFisher, author Please do not read through the text file before playing.

Seeing later episode goals and warnings at the start will
spoil the adventure and some of the challenges. In this
adventure, reading ahead is definitely cheating.

Also: Please don't post the details of episodes after the
first. You spoil the adventure for others. If my text file
is abused this way, I'll never put another meaningful note
into another adventure text file ever.

Just play the adventure; you might learn a thing or two and
discover that you can do more than you thought.
bobT This adventure was excellent in all forms. A true challenge for the city builder pros out there. I had a great time with this one and will replay it once my blood preasure returns to normal.

Great one JR

Granny Jrfisher-Me will never play this adventure again!
Why i ran out of "Nitro" pills. And my Dr. won't give me any more fer at least a month. Wheeeeee! Its tuff, very challenging, and sometimes just down rite surprising! Ole Grann needs alot of time to rest up after this one. As fer replaying it, guess i'll have to leave that up to my Dr?
As not to give to much away-maybe u should make a small post as a hint-u-no-last episode? I ran into problem with to many walkers. As u no-i almost gave it up. But u twisted me arm, and i was to close to quit. Thanks! :)
Jeff Fisher, Author Well Granny, I am glad you were able to tuff it out.

All you others, please note that playing at "easy" level
can lead to excessive numbers of walkers when you try to
employ everybody, and that can overrun some programmed
internal limit. Olympian (or possibly Titan) may be the
safest level to play this adventure.

It has only been tested at Olympian.
joreetaylor Please, please, please, please, please, please, please make more!
Solander Pretty cool adventure. Good idea to update the adventure. Was it because of the little demeter-bug (food and other stuff for millions because you could rebuild it a thousand times *g*?).

Just one thing still to say: i think its a little unfair to summon a monster in an episode, where you have no chance to build the right hero-hall. Had to restructure my temples *g* This is not meant to be a spoiler, so i don`t use any Episode-Numbers ore Names. The ones, who played the game, will know :)
homegrown This is an excellent adventure. I love the map so much, I think you should update it for Poseidon and add some Pyramids. :)

Godslay3r how the hell do you get the culture?? it only comes up with museum and biblioteke, so i cant get beyond homestead!
