The Seventh Wonder

Author File Description

This is my first attempt at creating an adventure. I have based this adventure on the history and mythology surrounding the ancient city of Ephesus. As I did research into the founding of the city and the eventual construction of the temple, I tried to include events that unfolded according to the history book. For example, the city of Sardis actually patronized Ephesus for a while before being conquered by other Persians. I have put many hours into tweaking and testing this adventure and I have tried to write an engaging story to go with it. I hope it plays as well for you as has for me.

quakeii This was a really interesting and fun adventure and played very well. It is hard to believe this is your first submitted adventure. It was tough in parts for me but in the end was very fair. I really liked your map. I look forward to more! Great fun!
Hissamenes Great Adventure. Zeus' destruction was a bit frustrating, but it's good to have a challenge. It was nice to see a well planned storyline that built on it's beginnings.
Please continue to write more!!
Gary Cowans I am having a problem installing this. I put the folder in the adventures folder in the game, but when I go to custom adventures, it is not there.
Edward I am having a problem here. I have installed the game into my adventure folder but it is not shown. I do not have the poseiden expansion. Please advise.
jimothy No problems running the game here, but i did feel that the adventure lacked structure somewhat. I don't know if you planned it this way, but the lack of any restrictions in what you could build meant that by the time I'd completed the goals for episode 1 I'd also inadvertantly completed those for episode 2.

The colony episode was fairly good, I felt, but then the crossover between episodes 4 and 5 was again very blurred (I already had my horsemen quote fulfilled when i began episode 5 - perhaps you could have held back horse farms until that episode) and EVERYONE is going to have "a sanctuary to any god" in episode 5 (I actually had 3 already up and running), because they had to build a sanctuary to artemis in #4.

Maps and story were nice enough, but it really felt like i was playing an open-play adventure.
vanksed After install the folder is invisible. Does anybody ever read these comments?
vanksed, I read them, and others do too. I suggest you try reinstalling the adventure. Go read this next forum thread completely to make sure you don't miss any steps, or do something incorrectly:,5616,0,365

Also: make sure you do not have too many custom adventures installed. Sometimes if you have too many, you need to remove some of the older ones before the new ones become accessible.

Map Design4.0
Playability: 4
Difficulty: Hero(normal)
First couple of episodes had interesting if easy challenges(budgeting, labor management).
The final episode requires a number of conquests to complete.
A simple mix that an intermediate player may find interesting. Advanced players might consider some personal rules.

Balance: 3
The final episode can be won unexpectidely if you spend enough time in the first episode. There are few scipts in each episode so extending play isn't much use. I went mostly for speed play thus avoiding some things and ignored other events.

Creativity: 3
Knowing the game mechanics can defuse some of the challenges that the designer might have been thinking about.

Map Design: 4
I liked the Parent City Map. It used a medium sized map which was refreshing. I only saw half of the scripted earthquakes, since I was going for speed, so missed out on their added character.
The Colony Map was Nice but had dozens of minor elevation change errors(Black Holes).

Story/Instructions: 4
Storyline was entertaining, informative with a humorous twist.
Lacked instructions, but the adventure was mostly straight forward, so no biggy.

ketoth How do you start this adventure? I see no starting road.
