My first attempt at adventure building - I'd love some feedback on ways to improve the next one.
Both me and my girlfriend have played through and completed the adventure, and we have very different styles of playing, so I'm fairly sure there are no dead-ends or major errors.
it's quite short, consisting of 4 parent episodes and a single colony, though a couple of the episodes (especially the first one) can be a bit tricky.
basic premise is that in peaceful times you intend to build a prosperous and cultured city on a large island to take advantage of trade passing through, but there turns out to be more than a few obstacles in your way...
EDIT: updated txt file as of 12.40 23/09/06 now hopefully typo-free and with a couple of hints for episode 1.
Edit: updated .txt again 18.30 25/09/06, plus added image above
Parent1: Very Challenging, which I like, but could be frustrating for others and the level of difficulty didn't hold true for the entire Adventure.
Parent2: Less Challenging, but most of the fun was recovering from the previous Episodes restrictiveness.
Colony: Interesting map made the build fun.
Parent3: Lacked any challenge other then waiting out Apollo city trashing.
Parent4: Started out very slowly. I was wondering when something would happen to distract me from the tedeim of Sanctuary building which I had enough of in the previous Episode. All heck happened as I neared the last Sancuary completion.
The Adventure was entertaining, but lacked a consistancy in difficulty. I actually walked away from the computer, letting it run unattended, during the 3rd and early part of 4th Episode.
I enjoyed the Adventure but it still needed polishing/balance.
Map Design: 4
The Parent City Map was especially interesting. Clever use of sparse meadows.
The needed text fill editing was 1 problem. The text provided enough hints but I didn't feel as if it was telling a "themed" story, but rather a series of hints and justifications for the goals.
