ZeusMapper is a small program to create PNG minimaps directly from Zeus scenarios (.pak), map files (.map) and saved games (.sav). The created images look exactly like the in-game minimap. For adventures, the colony maps are also viewable.
Installation and usage
Simply unzip the file somewhere and run ZeusMapper.exe.
More information (plus source code) can be found here.
Version 1.0, 2007-01-24
Version 1.2, 2008-01-16
- The houses on the minimaps of certain Greek saved games were improperly showing as Atlantean, this is no longer the case
- Fixed a few memory leaks
- The program no longer requires additional DLLs to be installed
This software doesn't work for me at all. It gves me out an error.
"This app. has failed to start because the app. configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the app. may fix this problem."
I deleted it and unzipped it again, and again and it still don't work.

Avaldemon, what version of Windows do you have?

What version of Windows do you need it don't work on mine either, I am running Windows 98 SE, probably not good enough, huh?

I have tested it myself on Win2000 and WinXP, so it should at least work on those two operating systems.
As for Windows 98 not being good enough: I just didn't test it because I didn't have access to a Win98 machine at the time. Since I know now that you can't get it running on that operating system, I can try it myself and see where the problem is. I'll report back as soon as I find a computer to install Win98 on :)

Okay, I installed Windows 98 SE on an old laptop, and attempted to run the ZeusMapper.exe program. It did not run but windows gave me the error "MSVCP80.DLL not found".
This DLL is part of the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package" that can be downloaded from the link in the file description at the top of this page.
After installing that package, the program ran just fine, so Win98SE itself is definitely not a problem.
When I searched for the error that avaldemon posted, I found out that this error can also be caused by missing DLL files. Please try to install the redistributable package mentioned above and try to run ZeusMapper again. If you're still having problems, please post:
- The exact error message you get
- When you get that error message: when starting the program, when loading a .pak/.sav file in the program, ...
