This is the basically the end-product of what I described in the adventure design forum of Zeus Heaven: A showcase of how quarry sites can be downsized by using a glitch in the game by surrounding the quarry site with beach and then using the refresh function (I really hope this doesn't magically work only in my version of the game). How to do this yourself is explained in detail in the adventure text or in a .doc-file in the adventure folder (which is a bit more reader friendly).
If you first want to excavate the whole quarry site/marble field before starting to test around yourself, I'd recommend to do this on beginner difficulty, using 100% speed and periodically destroying your stuffed storage yards, because otherwise you'll still be playing next week.^^ You also get some money and food gifts each year as to speed the whole thing a bit up.
And if I may say that: I'm very happy with the outcome of the design, it looks pretty good to me. ^_^
PS: I forgot to add something: To place roads or certain other elements next to a downsized quarry site you might need to save and revert the map (or go back to the main page of the adventure editor) to fix this bug.
