Lacedaemon, a Son of Zeus and Husband of the King of Laconia's only daughter, Sparta, is given rulership over the five tribes of the Eurotas River Valley.
Follow in his footsteps as he works alongside some of the most notable men of Ancient Greece, creating one of the most memorable people of the period, the Lacedaemonids. More commonly known as the Spartans.
This Adventure consists of 7 parent scenarios and 2 colony scenarios.

Author's notes:
----------------------------------------------------
Lacedaemonids is the first full scenario that I have designed and uploaded to Zeus Heaven's Forums. So please be kind in your critique, which is also warmly welcome!
It is an adventure that has been thoroughly researched, with the Parent map being based exclusively off of a classical Sparta, as well as the colonies being loosely based off of Google Maps and other descriptions.
The stories of the characters in the adventure have also been researched, with references to Ares-related myths, rulers of cities being roughly in line with the timeline of Lacedaemon's life and Ancient Greek History.
My inspiration of this map comes from 'The Peloponnesian War' Adventure in Zeus, offering players the opportunity to make a fully fledged 'Old-Sparta'.
I hope you enjoy this adventure. Please be sure to send any completed cities to the appropriate forum, as I would love to see your designs.
The adventure has been beta-tested a number of times on Olympian difficulty. But faults may always fall through the net, please kindly note any faults in comments and I will build an update log to fix any that may crop up.
Regards,
Alexander |

Hi nekoal
I'm playing through the adventure and I'm stuck in the second episode while building the sanctuary to Ares.
There doesn't seem to be a way to get statues: I can't build them on my own using my bronze since I can't build a sculpture studio and non of my allies sell them; I quickly checked with the adventure editor and it looks like I don't have to wait for any city-state event to happen (I'm at the 11th year of the episode).
Is there any bug you know about? |

Hello ivny,
No, this is by design, so as to force a player to gain friendly relations.
You can still gain the two Sculptures you need by sending gifts and fraternising with Troy.
If you send them enough Marble or coin, they will eventually like you enough where you can request sculptures. Be sure the text says request and not demand though, else you will be denied.
I hope you continue to enjoy the adventure after this episode.

Hello lexaned,
I'm sorry to see your 2.4 review for the adventure.
I was wondering if you might be kind enough to edit your review and explain where you believed it was unbalanced, so that I may improve the scenario.

I really enjoyed playing this adventure that was really smooth. The first 2 missions were a bit long as it took a lot of time to gather the money to get these damn scupltures, but it was quite challenging and required to limit waste of money (not that frequent in most adventures). The next missions were equally challenging (Eco/military/space management). I really enjoyed the colony missions with scarce space which made it a plasure to build. Story was solid as well.
Playability: 5
No bug, solid gameplay, Excellent difficulty balance.
Balance: 4
I have to admit that I almost gave up when I saw that I had to beg Troy once more for scupltures for the second temple. Apart from that, a really challenging mission from the start (eco management) to late game (exciting military finish) with great pleasure on the colonies.
As for the positive criticism, probably slighty too much space on the main map which could have been more exciting with the high pop goals and less space. My luxury houses were just full straight lines which removed the fun of thinking how to create these blocks with constraints.
Creativity: 4
Quite classic but efficient!
Map Design: 4
Main map was quite classic and "simple" (which is not necessarily an issue). Colonies were far more exciting with the restriction on space.
Story/Instructions: 5
Well written & challenging goals.
Additional Comments; Next one please!!

Hello Ansaros!
Thank you so much for you Review and Critique. It was a pleasure to read.
I'm pleased to hear that you didn't find it unbalanced to the point of it being unplayable. Thank you also for the story remarks.
Whilst I admit asking Troy for the sculptures does seem beneath the expected, this is by design in order to challenge that perception.
If it's not too much hassle, I would certainly enjoy seeing your finished city on the Completed Cities Catagory.
I hope to make more scenarios in the future.
Regards,
Alexander. [Edited on 04/29/21 @ 05:46 AM]
